Placing a dehumidifier in a corner or at the far end of a basement or crawlspace will greatly reduce its ability to dry the entire space.

Another way to prevent mold is to eliminate the food sources of fungus. These include paper products such as cardboard boxes, magazines, and books as well as other sources such as wood furniture, textiles, and old carpeting.
